The second training course on animation and communication in the context of a participative process was held in the premises of the National Centre for Environmental Education of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Environment (MATE), in Algiers , from March 29 to 31, 2004 . The main objective of the training course was to train the animators who can promote the application of a participative approach in the framework of CAMP, and to prepare them for the first concrete application of the participatory approach at the level of pilot actions of the CAMP. The training course based its work on a brief information prepared for the needs of the training course regarding the Reghaia lake, which has every chance of being accepted as one of the pilot sites.
During the three days of the training course, which have been filled with the practical exercises, the play of the roles and the analysis of this play of the roles filmed with a video camera, the animators practised the art of communicating, how to animate different target groups, how to apply the tools of visualisation, how to control difficult situations, etc. Their wish to start the field work as soon as possible and to try to apply in practice what they have learned makes us believe that the participative approach will become an important element of the CAMP.
Otherwise, the experience these young animators are going to apply in the field should allow them to continue applying the participative approach also in the phase to follow the CAMP, to take over an important role in introducing the participative approach in other similar projects, and to pass down their knowledge to other persons concerned with these participative approaches. In this way, another important objective of training courses organised by PAP/RAC, namely, the "training of the trainers", will be attained.
