We are thrilled to announce that PAP/RAC is a proud partner in the MEDIGREEN project, which stands for - "MEDiterranean approach towards a maritime European GREEN Deal in MSP". This initiative, funded by the European Maritime, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF), aims to accelerate the European Green Deal transition in the Mediterranean Sea through Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP).
The project’s kick-off meeting, held last week in Brussels, marked the beginning of a collaborative journey towards sustainability in the Mediterranean. Coordinated by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), MEDIGREEN focuses on critical sectors such as Offshore Renewable Energies (ORE), fisheries, aquaculture, and nature protection.
As a project partner, PAP/RAC brings its extensive experience in integrated coastal zone management and sustainable development. This initiative also fosters cooperation with non-EU countries that are Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention, such as Albania, Algeria and Tunisia.
Additionally, MEDIGREEN promotes knowledge exchange with other EU sea basins, including the Black Sea, North Sea, and Baltic Sea, supporting the evolution of MSP and the European Green Deal across Europe.
