PAP/RAC joins ERASMUS+ to increase Climate Change awareness for Youth in the Mediterranean

The Kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ KA220-YOU project, titled "Climate Change Awareness in the Mediterranean from Youth Perspective," was organised by the Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM). It was held in Ankara on February 24-26, 2025. In addition to PAP/RAC the project involves the following partner institutions: Dokuz Eylül University Institute of Marine Sciences and Technology (Türkiye), the International Federation for Sustainable Development and the Fight against Poverty in the Mediterranean-Black Sea (FISPMED, Italy) and Universidad Abat Oliba CEU (Spain).

The project aims to raise awareness of climate change in the Mediterranean region and encourage the active participation of youth in the process. It plans to implement academic research, field studies, and interactive training programs, the so-called CASS trainings (Climate Awareness and Sustainable Skills). Supported under the Erasmus+ program, the project is expected to last 30 months and is intended to produce significant outputs aligned with the European Union’s strategic objectives in the field of youth.

PAP/RAC will contribute with participation to the training sessions in particular the one on Climate change and its impacts on the Mediterranean by providing lessons/experience and best practice in the field; nominate 16 students that will participate to the CASS trainings, support the preparation of the training modules and e-learning platform, as well as organise the closing event in Split.
