Following the round of meetings with the national institutions, a series of meetings with representatives of coastal municipalities of Montenegro were organised virtually during January 2021. The meetings were organised to discuss needs and options for the nautical tourism development, as part of the MSP preparation. During the meetings, the GIS database created, with all the identified existing and planned marine uses, was presented to the participants, and fruitful discussion on different locations followed, which put forward a number of suggestions.
Despite the unfortunate pandemic restrictions, the preparation of MSP in Montenegro is progressing, with more stakeholder consultations on the way. MSP in Montenegro is being prepared as part of the GEF Adriatic project, in cooperation with the Montenegrin Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism.
