In the editorial titled "Moment of Truth", Mr. Gaetano Leone, UNEP/MAP-Barcelona Convention Secretariat Coordinator, recalls the centrality of the UNEP/MAP Barcelona Convention system for a more resilient and sustainable future of the Mediterranean region, and underscores the need to avoid unnecessary institutional overlaps and to foster cooperation.
The In-focus section of the MED News puts the spotlight on the State of Environment and Development (SoED) report. You will find information on the environmental and development challenges faced in the region in the context of calls to recover from COVID-19 in a smart, sustainable and resilient fashion.
The preparation of the MED News is the fruit of a system-wide collaboration between the Coordinating Unit and the RACs. INFO/RAC designs and develops the newsletter, thus contributing to information, awareness-raising and participation in the region and beyond.
