“Enhancing Regional Climate Change Adaptation in the Mediterranean Marine and Coastal Areas”, MedProgramme Child project funded from GEF's SCCF component, is approaching its final stage. The project was presented by PAP/RAC at the first Mediterranean Green Week, organised by the Union for the Mediterranean and its partners in Istanbul, from May 14 to 16. The project’s aim to steer a broad sustainable development process in the region was well aligned with the Mediterranean Green Week, which was itself entitled “Towards a Greener and More Resilient Mediterranean”. The event attracted some 150 public officials, private sector representatives, civil society members and scientists who exchanged views on how to collaboratively tackle the region’s interlinked climate, energy and environmental crisis. PAP/RAC and GEF MedProgramme also contributed through its Child Project 2.1, “Mediterranean Coastal Zones: Water Security, Climate Resilience and Habitat Protection”, in the framework of which a talk was given on the importance and opportunities related to the MSP in the Mediterranean.
