UNEP/MAP at the Festival of Mediterranean Citizens (Catania, Italy, 2-5 June 2022)

The Director of INFO/RAC was one the speakers in the section on "Water in the Mediterranean: disputed and running out" held on 4 June 2002 in Catania, at the Palazzo della Cultura. The focus of the session was on the access to drinking water and sanitation, recognised as a fundamental human right that unfortunately is not always fulfilled. The debate was focused on how to re-balance the relationship between man, nature and water. The ICZM Protocol was quoted for many aspects and in particular in relation to wetlands that need to be protected and restored as a key element in water cycle.
