The MedOpen Advanced Course on Calculating the IMAP Candidate Common Indicator 25 on Land Cover Change funded under the GEF MedProgramme ended on 29 October, and PAP/RAC thanks the 17 participants from 7 Mediterranean countries for their rich contributions that made this session so dynamic.
During the three weeks of the course, participants were able to learn more about IMAP and the common indicators from the PAP/RAC team, as well as the importance of calculating Candidate Indicator 25 for coastal planning. They also learned how to calculate the indicator in a harmonized way, alongside a team of experts in geographic information systems, so that their values are comparable within the monitoring system. The practical exercises conclude with the submission of a detailed individual report, which allowed participants to obtain their MedOpen certification.
