Slovenia celebrates the Mediterranean Coast Week

It has been a tradition now that Slovenia celebrates the Mediterranean Coast Day during the whole week. And it is not only for the promotion of integrated management of national coastal area and increasing awareness of its importance. Moreover, this initiative is organised in cooperation with the EU Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian sub-region of the Mediterranean (EUSAIR) and therefore bringing together stakeholders from all countries in this sub-region.

The Mediterranean Coast and Macro-Regional Strategies Week events this year took place in Izola between 19th and 23rd September 2022. Among the main topics that coloured the celebration were the following: the capacity building for monitoring and evaluation of the EUSAIR, the role of the youth in the context of the EUSAIR, a transboundary MSPMED project between Italy and Slovenia, a cross TSG 3 and TSG 1 pillar cooperation by implementing ICZM and MSP projects, green transition and innovation for sustainable blue economy.

PAP/RAC contributed with the presentation of activities on climate change adaptation, Adriadapt project, MSP Workspace and CAMP Bosnia and Herzegovina during the workshop on 23 September and participation to the workshop on the role of the government in supporting implementation of circular economy in practice.
