PAP/RAC at the ARIEL Innovation Brokering Event

On 21 January 2019, PAP/RAC participated as a stakeholder in the Innovation Brokering Event of the ARIEL project, held in Split, Croatia. Being part of the INTERREG Adriatic-Ionian Programme – ADRION, the project aims to promote through a knowledge network technological and non-technological solutions for innovations in the field of small-scale fisheries and aquaculture in the Adriatic-Ionian macro-region.

During the Innovation Brokering Event, participants were divided into eight groups according to their specific interests in order to find quick and appropriate solutions for the small-scale fisheries and aquaculture issues. PAP/RAC participated in the group discussing the theme dealing with Reducing competition with other users. The event aimed to facilitate the transfer of research and development into concrete and viable actions for coastal fishermen and aquaculture participants. In the end, the participants themselves proposed the desired pilot actions to test the proposed innovative solutions. The implementation and adoption of such solutions will also feed into the ARIEL platform that will help all stakeholders in introducing innovative ideas and offer solutions both during and after the project.
