PAP/RAC, in partnership with the Tunisian Agency for the Protection and Development of the Coastline (APAL), the University of Sfax (ORIENTATE.tn project), and the Association for the Safeguarding of the Island of Djerba (ASSIDJE), organized an educational discovery day entitled "Lella Hadhria: Between Land and Sea" on the iconic Lella Hadhria beach in Djerba, as part of the Global Environment Facility's MedProgramme.
This activity, which follows on from the events of Coast Day 2025 celebrated on September 25 in Gammarth, Tunisia, aimed to showcase the ecological richness of the Tunisian coastline and raise awareness among the younger generation about the preservation of terrestrial and marine biodiversity. Approximately thirty scouts from Djerba were invited to participate. Through observation, citizen science, clean-up, and artistic activities, the children explored the profound connections between land and sea, while developing a culture of respect and environmental protection.
A powerful message: protecting the sea means protecting our future.
Through this initiative, the connection between young people and their coastal environment was strengthened, empowering them to take action and express themselves. By combining science, civic engagement, and artistic expression, this day sowed the seeds of a generation that is conscious, engaged, and respectful of nature.
