The second workshop dedicated to developing the Zone Management Tool (ZMT) for Lella Hadhria was recently held in Djerba, bringing together around forty participants. The workshop aimed to validate the management scenarios developed from the territorial assessment and to collaboratively create an operational action plan for the management of the Lella Hadhria zone.
After a review of the ZMT process and a presentation of the results of the previous workshop, participants collectively analyzed two scenarios – priority conservation and tourism development – through a participatory SWOT exercise. This approach allowed them to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of each scenario, before arriving at an integrated management scenario that reconciles ecosystem protection with sustainable local development.
The second part of the workshop, facilitated using the Lotus Blossom method, translated these reflections into a concrete action plan based on four pillars: recognition of the Ramsar site, regulation of human activities, ecosystem restoration, and awareness-raising. Participants then identified key stakeholders, monitoring indicators, and prioritized short-term actions.
The workshop concluded with broad consensus on the next steps, including the creation of a committee to coordinate and monitor the action plan. This event marks a decisive step towards integrated and participatory management of the Lella Hadhria coastline.
