CAMP Cyprus concluded

The Final Presentation Conference of CAMP Cyprus took place in Nicosia, on 13 June 2008. The purpose of the Conference was to present the main results and achievements of the activities pursued under the CAMP Cyprus project and highlight the key recommendations to the Government of Cyprus.

The Conference was attended by over 50 high-level participants from almost all government departments as well as from the private sector organisations and NGOs. The participants agreed that CAMP Cyprus is a successful project and that the proposals reached and put forward in the Summary Report presented at the Conference will fulfil an important need in the policy framework of Cyprus with regard to coastal management. An agreement on the contents and usefulness of the conclusions reached by CAMP Cyprus was expressed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment, the Environment Service and the Activity Team Leaders / Experts.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment, the Environment Service (through the Director of the Environment Service) extended their thanks primarily to MAP and PAP/RAC as well as to Blue Plan and SPA/RAC for their scientific, professional and financial support to the Government of Cyprus through the CAMP Cyprus project, and congratulated the Team Leaders, National Specialists and the International Consultants for their contributions.
