The 2014 Mediterranean Coast Day celebration will have climate variability and change as its key topic. Since great importance is attributed to work with children and adolescents, PAP/RAC has started already last year collaboration with the high school “Vladimir Nazor” of Split and their advanced group in geography. After their highly successful work and presentations in last year’s celebrations in both Split and Rimini, it was decided to engage them again for this year’s celebration to be organised in Šibenik. It was decided that they would be joined by their colleagues from a Šibenik high school.
To introduce the issues of climate variability and change, we have asked Prof. Ivica Vilibiæ of the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries, Split, PAP/RAC consultant in other projects, to prepare a brief presentation for the students that will be involved in the project. The presentation was held on April 29 at the school. This year, the group will be composed of 2nd year students and all but one attended the presentation, and showed great interest in the subject. Prof. Vilibiæ supplied materials for their research, and kindly offered to provide any additional information and assistance, as well as to review their results when ready.
