Within the framework of the MedProgramme CP 2.1 and SCCF projects, on July 13th and 14th, PAP/RAC brought together the expert team leaders of the preparation of coastal plans for Boka Kotorska Bay (Montenegro) and for Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region (Morocco). Team leaders discussed the progress on plans’ development together with the governmental representatives of Montenegro and Morocco, and colleagues from the PAP/RAC and Plan Bleu. Having several requests for assistance in preparing coastal adaptation plans, PAP/RAC decided to develop a methodological guideline for coastal plan preparation according the ICZM Protocol for the Mediterranean, in order to provide support for all other coastal regions and cities that are eager to launch preparation of such plans. These discussions contribute to the mentioned methodological guideline. Methodology will be based on the PAP/RAC experience, starting from the awarded Šibenik-Knin Coastal plan, to many other experiences in which PAP/RAC provided advisory role. PAP/RAC’s experience in planning and management of coastal areas dates from the late ‘80s, since when PAP/RAC has been coordinating Coastal Area Management Programmes (CAMPs).
