The PAP/RAC delegation visited Kotor on 17 June 2022 in order to meet with the local experts included in the preparation of the Coastal Management Plan for Boka Kotorska Bay, which is being designed within the frame of the GEF MEDProgramme.
By discussing relevant topics and prevailing challenges in the region, including spatial development, tourism, climate change, waste and water resource management and pressures on marine environment among others, the team agreed upon the envisaged structure of the Coastal Management Plan presented by PAP/RAC.
Based on an integral approach, data analysis and recommendations provided by the local experts, the Coastal Management Plan will highlight the feasible measures which can contribute to the sustainable development of Boka Kotorska bay and its three municipalities – Kotor, Tivat and Herceg Novi.
The experts will present their initial findings on 4 July 2022 during the 2nd Coastal Management Plan meeting with the local stakeholders in Kotor, as an opportunity to address the main challenges in the region - with special focus on climate variability and change.
