PAP/RAC at the UfM meetings

11.03.2014

At the invitation of the European Commission and the Union for the Mediterranean, the PAP/RAC Director participated in three meetings organised in the week 10-14 March in Amman, Jordan: the Stakeholders meeting to consult a variety of Mediterranean stakeholders about the priority issues related to three main themes of concern for the UfM (Horizon 2020, Sustainable Consumption and Production, and Climate Change); the Working Group on Climate Change; and the pre-ministerial meeting to revise the text of the Ministerial Declaration to be adopted at the forthcoming UfM ministerial conference in May. The working group on Climate Change was an occasion to make, on behalf of UNEP/MAP and the MedPartnership project, a presentation of the Climate Change and Variability (ClimVar) project. The presentation focused on: ClimVar platform and SDI; DIVA demonstration projects in Croatia and Tunisia; ICZM plan in Šibenik-Knin County (Croatia); and the dissemination and training activities. It was followed by a series of questions and proposals for future activities made by the participants.
