Jointly organised by UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, VASAB, Pan Baltic Scope and European Commission’s Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, the Maritime Spatial Planning Forum: Global Meets Regional took place on 19-21 November 2019 in Riga, Latvia. The focus was on global and regional MSP topics, including the results and findings of the Pan Baltic Scope collaboration. Owing to its collaboration with IOC-UNESCO in the field of MSP, PAP/RAC was given the opportunity to present the Mediterranean experience within two thematic workshops: “What are the success factors and mechanisms for cross-border cooperation in achieving coherent MSP?” and “Integrating land, sea and society into MSP: Economic and social impacts and land-sea interactions”. More about the Forum including presentations can be found at the Riga MSP Forum.
