On 15 December 2015 more than 300 members and national and international collaborators gathered in Gammarth to celebrate 20 years of the Tunisian Coastal Protection and Planning Agency (APAL). On this occasion, the participants jointly reflected on the realities, concerns and challenges in managing the Tunisian coast. It was at the same time an opportunity to exchange technical experiences, to debate and celebrate which allowed participants to sum up and evaluate success of APAL during the first 20 years, to identify elements to be revised or strengthened, and to jointly reflect on the priorities for the future, including the ratification of the ICZM Protocol and its implementation.
PAP/RAC was one of the privileged Mediterranean actors who were given the opportunity to testify of a long and fruitful co-operation with APAL and to propose ways of the future co-operation.
Once again, our sincere congratulations, and long live APAL!
