During 11 and 13 May, a Joint meeting of the National Focal Points of the BP, Info and PAP Regional Activity Centres (RACs) took place in Nice. This was a regular biennium meeting to discuss the Centres' Progress Reports and Work Programmes for the next period, as well as to discuss relevant documents from their field of work. The first day of the meeting was dedicated to the Blue Plan whereas PAP/RAC's session was on 12 May. The FPs congratulated PAP/RAC for the work done and appreciated the quality and relevance of the outputs achieved that were focused on the implementation of the ICZM Protocol. Due to the entering into force of the ICZM Protocol, they welcomed the efforts made to prepare a draft Action Plan for the implementation of the ICZM Protocol. Proposals were made on how to improve the document. Presented was also the draft Reporting Format for the ICZM Protocol and the Work Programme for 2012-2013.
Given the limited financial resources available for the implementation of the ambitious programme of work envisaged, the new call for the project proposals within the ENPI CBC Mediterranean Basin was presented as an opportunity to secure additional external funds.
