A Sub-regional expert group meeting on Coast and Hydrography indicators will take place in Zagreb, Croatia, on 6 - 7 December 2017, as part of the EcAp MED II project. The Project supports the South Mediterranean Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention to implement the Ecosystem Approach (EcAp). All other Contracting Parties have been invited to participate, as well.
One of the main objectives of this meeting is to present and discuss the final drafts of the National Integrated Monitoring and Assessment Programmes (IMAPs) on Coast and Hydrography indicators prepared by the EcAp MED II-eligible countries. An opportunity will also be given to all other countries to present the state regarding their National IMAPs on Coast and Hydrography. The meeting will also discuss the sub-regional specificities and experience-exchange on monitoring. Furthermore, the second day of the meeting will be dedicated to a step-by-step training on how to implement the monitoring on all three indicators of Coast and Hydrography.
This workshop aims at enhancing the already established sound basis for a harmonised and efficient monitoring of the Mediterranean coastal zones.
