Co-Evolve Final conference and SC meeting

In the morning of 2 October 2019, the final conference of the Co-Evolve project was held in Kavala, Greece. About sixty participants participated at the meeting, including representatives of the Region of East Macedonia and Thrace and of the town of Kavala, Co-Evolve project partners and representatives of the Co-Evolve4BG, a project which is going to be launched soon and during which Co-Evolve experiences will be replicated around the Mediterranean. As the strong focus of the Co-Evolve project was on the importance of properly managing the coastal zone in tourist destinations by implementing the ICZM, the conference was an ideal place to discuss in more detail about this approach with local stakeholders. That is why a PAP/RAC representative delivered a presentation on the contribution of the ICZM Protocol to coastal challenges in the Mediterranean. In the afternoon, the last steering committee of Co-Evolve took place. After reviewing the financial situation and the communication activities, the PAP/RAC representative presented the progress of the WP5 on transferability of Co-Evolve results at the local, regional and Mediterranean scale, with PAP/RAC as the team leader. Partners agreed on the remaining efforts to be done in order to improve the final results of the project. Finally, pilot partners presented their latest progress on WP5 transferability plans. On 3 October, all Co-Evolve partners were invited to a field visit to the pilot site of Thassos.
