The objective of the project is to propose strategies for sustainable tourism development in three pilot coastal zones: Mont Chenoua - Cap Djinet in Algeria, Central Rif in Morocco and Cap Bon in Tunisia.
The ceremony in which certificates will be presented to the winners, and the international television gala for the ENERGY GLOBE World Awards will be organised on 26 May 2008 at the European Parliament in Brussels.
" The International Energy Globe Awards (the World Awards for Sustainability) have been awarded annually since 1999 to recognise projects that make careful and economical use of resources and employ alternative energy sources. The winners, in the categories of Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Youth, are selected by a panel including members from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, World Bank and the European Renewable Energy Council. The awards were an initiative by Austrian engineer and environmentalist Wolfgang Neumann " (Source: Wikipedia).
