A new series of "Destinations" workshops

02.11.2008

In the frame of the "Destinations" project (LIFE - Third Countries), a new series of workshops has started with the workshops on alternative scenarios for tourism development and environmental management tools in tourism sector. The workshops were held in Morocco, at M'Diq, from 21 to 23 October 2008. In spite of bad weather, which hit the project zone, about thirty participants attended these interactive workshops. During the workshops, the participants became familiar with the ideas and reflections of the local and national actors regarding tourism development in their zone. The conclusions and recommendations of these workshops will serve as a basis for the elaboration of alternative scenarios - the next phase of the project, which is to be realised by national consultants in collaboration with the national co-ordination of the project, PAP/RAC and its consultants. The workshops to elaborate the same issues have been scheduled in Tunisia (Korba, on 11 and 12 November 2008) and in Algeria (Algiers, on 6 - 8 December 2008 - to be confirmed).
