Tulcea in Romania was the venue of the 2nd General Meeting of Pegaso FP7 project from 4-8 July 2011. It was organised by the Danube Delta National Institute for Research and Development (DDNI), which is one of the project partners. Scientists, end-users, project partners and other stakeholders participated at the meeting.
The main objectives of the meeting were: to report on the progress made so far in various WPs; to discuss the implementation achievements and gaps; to define the next steps; and to conduct the End User Committee meeting, and the project General Assembly. The major topics discussed included: ICZM in the Mediterranean and Black Sea – ICZM Process with the focus on stocktaking; the regional assessment; the ICZM Platform; CASES; and Coastal and marine SDI. PAP/RAC contributed substantially to the overall success of the meeting by participating in various sessions in particular to the stocktaking and platform sessions.
A technical visit to the Danube Delta was an opportunity for participants to know better the issues affecting the area.
