In the GEF MedProgramme Child Project 2.1 framework, PAP/RAC supports Lebanon in preparing the National ICZM Strategy and the Draft ICZM Law. This national strategy is an update on two attempts to agree on national priorities. However, previous attempts didn't result in an adoption.
Therefore, this time, PAP/RAC and its team of 17 experts, together with an Inter-ministerial ICZM Group, implement a sequence of awareness and advocacy-related activities. To inform the Lebanese population about the value and fragility of their coast, a Lebanese Coastal Information Platform has been developed and is accessible at lebanoncp.com.
This platform is a repository of the most essential information on Lebanon’s coastal zone. It will also feature the Draft National ICZM Strategy and the Draft ICZM Law for a comprehensive consultation process.
