Preparation of the coastal management plan for Boka Kotorska Bay kicked off in Montenegro

On December 3rd, PAP/RAC and Plan Blue RAC held the first workshop for the preparation of Coastal management plan for Boka-Kotorska Bay in Montenegro. It was a joint Scoping and Climagine workshop, held in Tivat, Montenegro, organized in the framework of the GEF MEDProgramme’s Child Project 2.1.  The workshop was attended by representatives of national and local governments, relevant institutions, NGO’s and private entities. The preparation of the plan will be carried out through a set of participatory Climagine workshops with a strong focus on inclusive participatory approach. The workshop concluded with priority topics that Plan will cover, and agreement on subsequent actions. The development of such plan will help in sustainable development and environmental protection of the Bay, but also represents an important step in Montenegro’s implementation of the ICZM Protocol.
