On 28 July 2026, the final event of the Damour Area Integrated Management Plan (IMP Damour) was held in Beirut, bringing together project partners and stakeholders under the theme “Cross-sectoral coordination and spatial integration for enhanced natural resources management from Source to Sea.”
The event marked the culmination of a collaborative process bringing together the complementary expertise of GWP-Med, PAP/RAC, UNESCO-IHP and Plan Bleu/RAC. The final IMP Damour provides an integrated framework for addressing the interlinked challenges affecting the Damour Area, from its river basin and aquifers to the coastal and marine environment.
PAP/RAC is glad to have contributed its expertise to addressing challenges related to sustainable urban and spatial planning, biodiversity protection, climate change and governance, helping to strengthen the links between land, coast and sea within an integrated Source-to-Sea approach.
With the planning process now completed, IMP Damour is ready to be shared with the Lebanese authorities, providing a basis for improved Source-to-Sea management and coordinated action for the sustainable future of the Damour Area and the benefit of its people.
