Focal Points met in Zagreb

01.06.2009

During May 25-27, 2009, Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, hosted the joint meeting of the National Focal Points of the three Regional Activity Centres of MAP namely, the BP/RAC, INFO/RAC and PAP/RAC. The latter was responsible for the organisation of this biennium meeting that, according to the reactions from the participants, was faultless.

The objectives of the meeting were to present, discuss and adopt the RACs’ Progress Reports for the biennium 2008-2009, the Work Programmes for 2010-2011, their mandates and Mid-term Programmes till 2014. In addition, each Centre had its own topics on the agenda, such as the Reporting Format for the ICZM Protocol presented by PAP/RAC.

The PAP/RAC sessions on the first day went very well, the documents presented were well received, and very good and constructive comments were made by the floor. These will help us improve these important documents that will guide us throughout the next biennium with regard to the activities we are going to implement, and even longer. The second and the third days were dedicated to BP and INFO RACs, and some common issues were discussed at the end of the meeting. The report of the meeting will be available soon.
