On July 4, 2024, an important meeting took place in Podgorica, Montenegro, where the draft Coastal Management Plan for Boka Kotorska Bay was showcased to the members of the National Working Group on ICZM. This represents a significant achievement in the collaborative efforts of GEF, PAP/RAC, and Montenegro under the MedProgramme.
Previous successes include the development of essential strategic and planning documents such as the National Strategy for ICZM in 2015 and the Marine Spatial Plan in 2021. The Coastal Management Plan for Boka Kotorska Bay is a major step forward as it marks the implementation of a crucial measure outlined in the Action Plan of the National ICZM Strategy, thereby contributing to the enforcement of the Barcelona Convention in Montenegro.
