On the 28th and 29th of March 2023, in Marseilles (France), PAP/RAC organized a Meeting of the Ecosystem Approach Correspondence Group on Monitoring (CORMON) Coast and Hydrography. The meeting brought together representatives of 13 Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention, PAP/RAC, Plan Bleu and UNEP/MAP officers.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss the content of the 2023 Quality Status Report (QSR) chapters on IMAP Ecological Objectives (EO) 7 and 8; solutions to strengthen the Science Policy Interface (SPI) for the implementation of IMAP - with a focus on CI 15 on hydrography ; the upgraded Guiding Factsheet for the Candidate Common Indicator 25 “Land cover change”; and the definition of GES for the Common Indicator 16 “Length of coastline subject to physical disturbance due to the influence of human-made structures”.
Before the closure of this productive two-day meeting, the Conclusions and Recommendations were adopted to serve as guidance for the implementation of IMAP and therefore, facilitate the preparation of the QSR in the upcoming months.
