Convergence of spatial plans and CAMP results

10.02.2014

A high level meeting with representatives of the Montenegrin Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, local governments, spatial planners and other experts took place in the premises of the Ministry in Podgorica, on 11 February 2014. The meeting, which was opened by Mr. B. Gvozdenoviæ, Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism, was attended by 50 participants including representatives of municipalities, developers of spatial plans for coastal municipalities, ministries and other relevant institutions.

The meeting was organised after the important Governmental decision to adopt the CAMP Montenegro results by which competent departments and municipalities are obliged to implement the guidelines and findings of the CAMP into relevant coastal plans. As highlighted by the Minister, this would create necessary preconditions for improving the policy for sustainable development and environmental protection, in order to develop a system of Integrated Coastal Zone Management in Montenegro.
