The CAMP Israel Workshop held on 9 April 2024 in the city of Herzliya brought together over 50 representatives from various Israeli coastal municipalities, governmental institutes, and academic institutions to address the pressing issues of climate change and coastal adaptation.
The event was organized in partnership with the AKLIMA Center, EcoOcean, and Herzliya Municipality to provide attendees with practical tools to navigate the uncertainties posed by sea-level rise and extreme weather events.
To ensure that all attendees had a basic understanding of the key concepts, three introductory webinars were held before the workshop. The main event featured dynamic round table discussions that focused on five case studies from Tel Aviv, Herzliya, Emek Hefer, Hadera, and Nahariya, highlighting specific issues related to the Israeli coastline.
The workshop concluded with a summary of the key findings, outlining the next actionable steps and discussing proactive strategies to achieve sustainable coastal planning and management amidst looming climate risks.
