How can we save Mediterranean wetlands?

Parallel meetings of the OAP M3 Steering Committee and “Off your map” campaign supported by MAVA foundation were organised in Ulcinj, Montenegro on 4-6 June. The Steering Committee had the objective to update the group on the progress of the demonstration and overarching projects and prepare the ground for the mid-term evaluation and OAP phase 2 planning. The communication task force meeting had the objective to further develop the “Off your map” campaign, adding a policy agenda, reframing objectives, etc. and define what the projects can contribute to the campaign. A considerable part of the meeting was dedicated to the Ulcinj saltworks, a very important wildlife habitat currently under great development threat. A visit of the saltworks was organised for the participants. PAP/RAC was represented in both groups providing governance guidelines and helping organise Coast Day events in the project demonstration sites.
