Harmonisation Meeting for the Coastal Plan of the Šibenik-Knin County

11.06.2014

In order to present the Diagnostic Analysis, prepared within the work on the Coastal Plan of the Šibenik-Knin County, to the principal stakeholders and general public a harmonisation meeting was organised on June 9 at the Old Town Hall of Šibenik. The meeting was attended by 40-odd participants including the President of the County, heads of various County departments, relevant ministries and representatives of various local organisations and institutions, as well as representatives of several other coastal counties. The presentations were focused on three topics deemed as most important: (i) water resource management, (ii) sustainable spatial planning approaches, and (iii) the geospatial analysis for the County. The presentations were very well received and the discussion that followed showed great interest in the subject which fulfilled the main objective of the meeting, i.e. to continue working towards a unique and innovative Coastal Plan, with particular emphasis on adaptation to Climate Change and Variability.

The opportunity was used to organise a meeting of the Project Steering Committee. Of the 13 members, 8 were present and adopted the Diagnostic Analysis, as well as the “Stakeholder Analysis” prepared by Mr. Vladimir Lay, Plan Bleu expert engaged to organise Climagine workshops.
