{"id":4896,"date":"2017-07-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-07-19T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paprac.org\/news\/marine-litter-is-a-big-deal-it-may-end-up-in-your-meal\/"},"modified":"2026-05-07T10:55:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T10:55:08","slug":"marine-litter-is-a-big-deal-it-may-end-up-in-your-meal","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/paprac.org\/hr\/novosti\/marine-litter-is-a-big-deal-it-may-end-up-in-your-meal\/","title":{"rendered":"Marine litter is a big deal, it may end up in your meal!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The International conference &#8220;Marine litter &#8211; challenges &amp; solutions&#8221; was organised by Davor Skrlec, the Croatian representative to the European parliament, in Split, Croatia, on 18 July 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The 100-odd participants, including representatives of the Croatian national, regional and local public authorities, researchers, civil society and international experts gathered to discuss three major topics related to marine litter: global and European perspectives, actions in the Adriatic, and marine litter in Croatia.<\/p>\n<p>The PAP\/RAC Director informed the participants about the UN Environment\/MAP initiatives concerning the Regional Plan on Marine Litter adopted in 2013 as a legally binding document for the entire Mediterranean Region; the 2016 Decision on additional instruments to support the implementation of the Regional Plan; the Regional Platform on Marine Litter established as an open-ended group of partners and a forum for consultations and exchange of experiences. She also pointed out two other important initiatives for combating marine litter: the Regional Action Plan for Sustainable Production and Consumption, and the Integrated Monitoring and Assessment Programme (IMAP) which includes two already adopted and one candidate indicator related to marine litter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":6892,"parent":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"class_list":["post-4896","news","type-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/paprac.org\/hr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news\/4896","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/paprac.org\/hr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/paprac.org\/hr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/news"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/paprac.org\/hr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/6892"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/paprac.org\/hr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=4896"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
