From 28 February to 2 March 2009, “El Ryadh” hotel at Sidi Fredj in the Algiers area accommodated a series of workshops organised by PAP\/RAC and MATET (Ministry of Land-use Planning, Environment and Tourism) in the framework of SMAP and “LIFE-Destinations” projects financed by the European Commission.<\/p>\n
On the occasion of the SMAP workshop, a Policy Brief prepared for Algeria was presented. In addition, the workshop was an opportunity to present and discuss joint activities of PAP\/RAC and MATET concerning ICZM, which gave rise to the proposal of new policy measures, such as the implementation of a CAMP for several Algerian coastal regions, and launching of the SDAL (Master Plan for Coastal Management).<\/p>\n
