{"id":8956,"date":"2026-06-01T08:47:43","date_gmt":"2026-06-01T08:47:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.paprac.org\/?post_type=faq&#038;p=8956"},"modified":"2026-06-12T13:52:19","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T13:52:19","slug":"what-is-pap-racs-mandate","status":"publish","type":"faq","link":"https:\/\/paprac.org\/hr\/faq\/what-is-pap-racs-mandate\/","title":{"rendered":"What is PAP\/RAC\u2019s mandate?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our mandate is to support the 21 Mediterranean countries and the European Union &#8211; the Contracting Parties to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unep.org\/unepmap\/who-we-are\/barcelona-convention-and-protocols\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Barcelona Convention<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; in the implementation of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/paprac.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/iczm_protocol.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Protocol on Integrated Coastal Zone Management<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ICZM Protocol), in the framework of the Barcelona Convention. As one of the Regional Activity Centres of UNEP\/MAP, we provide technical assistance, policy guidance, and capacity building to ensure the sustainable development of coastal areas.
