Slovenia ratified the ICZM Protocol!

24.09.2009

On 25 September 2009, the Slovenian Parliament adopted the Law on Ratification of the ICZM Protocol for the Mediterranean. Slovenia is the first Contracting Party to the Barcelona Convention that has ratified this important international legal instrument. Congratulations!

We believe this act is going to be an impetus to other countries of the region to ratify the Protocol, as well. In fact, we have some good indications that there are some other Contracting Parties in the pipe line to do so very soon. The ICZM Protocol will enter into force once six Contracting Parties have ratified it. We will keep you informed.
