Shipping towards MSP

PAP/RAC participated in the 3rd European Ports & Shipping Conference which took place on 18 and 19 September in Amsterdam. This two-day international conference brought together the ports, logistics and shipping companies together with policy makers and academia to discuss development strategies for ports and shipping sector.

PAP/RAC presented the ICZM policy framework that could play a significant role in strategic planning for ports and shipping industry. In addition, the relevance of the ICZM Protocol in the Mediterranean and the EU, legal and practical links of MSP and ICZM, as well as reflections of MSP in the ICZM Protocol have been highlighted. Considering the important mandate PAP/RAC has for applying MSP in the Mediterranean, this conference could be considered as a useful entrance towards enhancing links with maritime business sector.
