GIS for Šibenik-Knin County

17.11.2014

In the framework of the definition of the ICZM Plan for the Šibenik-Knin County, the first round of professional training courses on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) was held in Šibenik, on November 18. A group of professionals representing the Šibenik-Knin County administration and PAP/RAC (13 people in total) attended this training course led by Martina Bauèiæ, GIS expert and PAP/RAC consultant to the realisation of the ICZM Plan for the Šibenik-Knin County.

The aim of this training course was to make the experts familiar with the use of the open source software: Quantum GIS (QGIS). The Worldwide QGIS is today a key tool in terms of providing a decision-making support to spatial management, and therefore it is an unavoidable tool in the coastal zone management.
