BEACHMED-e concluded

The Beachmed-e project has been concluded by the Final Conference that took place in Rome, on 29-31 May 2008. This project is a Regional Framework Operation co-financed by the INTERREG IIIC programme with the general objective to improve technical and administrative instruments for a strategic management of the coastal defence for sustainable development of the Mediterranean coastal zones. PAP/RAC participated as a project partner to this initiative due to its expertise and experience in coastal erosion. At the conference, the Phase C results of Beachmed-e were presented. This phase was focused on the application and test of the new methodologies via pilot projects. PAP/RAC contributed to the conference with the presentation of and discussion on the ICZM Protocol for the Mediterranean.
